Arrivals Procedure

On arrival in the city, delegates are required to make their own way to their accommodation and/or the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

On-site registration opening hours will follow shortly.


Delegate name badges should be collected from the registration desks on arrival at the venue. Badges must be worn and be clearly visible at all times when attending the meeting and exhibition.

Cash Machines

A cash machine is situated in the building and does not charge for withdrawals.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

The British Society of Gastroenterology will apply for CPD accreditation through the Royal College of Physicians. Further information will follow.

Please note that, in order to receive the CPD credits, you must ensure that your badge is scanned each afternoon you attend, at the BSG stand. You must also complete the post event survey. CPD credits are assigned per day, not per meeting.

Card Payments

The registration desk, which is located in the Central Foyer, will accept ONLY Visa or MasterCard.

Exhibition Area Schedule

The exhibition will be open from 17:30 – 18:45 on Monday 19 June for the welcome reception, 08:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 June and from 08:00 to 14:00 on Thursday 22 June.

Food & Beverages

Tea, coffee and lunch are included in the registration fee and will be served in the exhibition area.

Mobile Phones

Delegates are kindly requested to keep their mobile phones on silent throughout the meeting space, as well as in the poster area.

Poster Sessions

Posters will be displayed each day during the main meeting (Tuesday 20 through Thursday 22 June). Poster rounds will take place during lunchtime, where presenters will be standing by their poster to answer questions.

Smoking Policy

Under UK law, smoking is not permitted in any public building anywhere in the United Kingdom.


The Annual Meeting will take place in June. The weather in Manchester is often warm and pleasant during the summer months with an average temperature of 14°C; however, the UK is subject to changeable weather, so you are advised to bring some warm and waterproof clothing.
